Before you go — the one thing I have taken every single morning since 2009.

I am going to be straight with you, because there is a page on this website where I said I would never sell a man a hat, and I meant that, and I still mean it.

This is not a hat. This is a supplement. There is a difference. I have thought about the difference for longer than Roberta wanted me to.

There were four years where I had to be sharper than whatever room I was standing in. Not stronger. Not faster. Sharper. When you are somewhere you are not on paper, the only asset you are issued is the one between your ears, and when that goes soft everything downstream of it goes soft too.

I came home foggy. I want to be honest about that because it is the least flattering thing on this entire website. There was a stretch of about six years where I could not hold a telephone number in my head long enough to walk across a room and dial it.

A fellow I know — and I am not going to say from where, and I would ask you not to guess in the guestbook — put me onto a stack. I have taken it every morning since. I am fifty-eight and I can still run a name, a plate and a time through my head at once. That is not a claim about anything. That is a Tuesday.
